Why should anyone participate?
Service or Seva is typically considered as an action to help others. However, it also encompasses a wider definition to include cultivating an attitude of the mind that uplifts and enables the individual to connect with society and the universal principle of Truth.
Chinmaya Mission Sevaks (volunteers) strive to serve in a spirit of selfless action, dedicating their work to the Highest altar of Truth without any ulterior motives or expectation of personal gain, likes, prejudices and for the cooperative benefit of all.
Chinmaya Mission Vadodara provides a field where such an attitude can be fostered, nurtured and cultivated to build for oneself a noble character and an integrated personality that is not only caring and sensitive to the needs of others but one that benefits the individual in every sphere of their lives.

How can anyone participate?
Chinmaya Mission is engaged in diverse fields of activity towards nation-building, cultural revival and service to society. Service at Chinmaya Mission is categorized into different levels –
- Transform Individual Lives
You can be an instrument of change in the life of any individual by helping/facilitating/hosting weekly learning forums like, Balvihar, Yuva Kendra, Study Groups, Devi Groups and Chanting Group. - Inspire the Masses
You can touch and transform millions by lending your heart and hand to the organizing of mega events, camps, workshops, corporate events, talks, yagnas, etc. Volunteer for a role at one or many events, e.g. – annual Jnana Yagnas, or festivals including Hanuman Jayanti, Mahashivaratri etc. - Serve Local and Grow Global
Volunteer at Chinmaya Mission Vadodara in administrative or other activities as per need and interest. Volunteer to help clean and maintain our ashram which purifies our mind. Volunteer in our growing bookshop at our ashram with the book stall and publications stock. - Break Out and Reach Out
You can serve also in many innovative and creative ways by participating in cultural activities at Chinmaya Mission Vadodara, writing, editing and translating material for the hundreds of books/publications, set up & organise a seva outreach event in the community, etc. - Learn with fun
You can regularly organise picnics/camps/outings outside Vadodara generally on weekends to help volunteers and sewaks get out of the daily monotony and mechanical living and experience a totally peaceful and serene atmosphere in nearby area of Vadodara.
